What it is: A compact paint palette from Djeco containing 12 highly pigmented gouache colours, a little paintbrush and a lid that doubles up as a mixing palette. Just add water to use the colours on their own or mix them together to create new shades. Gouache is similar to watercolour but with a more opaque, richly coloured finish, and these paints are ultra-washable from hands and clothes.

Why we love it: We love anything that encourages little imaginations to run wild, and this lovely little palette is perfect for budding artists who love to experiment with colour. The paints have a beautiful, rich finish, and having 12 colours to mix and play with means there are endless possibilities. It's a brilliant addition to a craft cupboard for rainy afternoons, weekend creativity or a little painting session at the kitchen table (with washable paint always a bonus!) and a great Christmas stocking filler.
