What it is: Squirrel has grown some beautiful pumpkins with a little help from Bird, and he couldn’t be prouder. But when his pumpkins start mysteriously disappearing, one by one, Squirrel sets out to catch the thief before Bird returns. A funny, charming story packed with expressive illustrations, plenty of mischief and a lovely non-fiction spread full of pumpkin facts at the back.

Why we love it: We love the expressive illustrations, the gentle humour and the little fact-filled surprise at the end, making it a great autumn and Halloween read that’s both entertaining and educational.
